The Texas Motorcycle Rights Association is sad to announce that our great Leader, Sputnik, passed away suddenly at approximately 5:00 AM this morning. I woke up at 5:45AM to find him on the living floor at the state office. It appeared that he crossed over quickly and did not suffer, from a massive heart attack. I can not begin to even put into words how devastating the loss is to the biker community, to his family, and to us who live with him at the state office, for all TMRA2, and to all of his brothers and sisters who loved him dearly. Sputnik will go down history as the greatest Motorcycle Rights Activist in the History of our Nation and we as his Task Force were truly blessed to be a part of this great Warriors life.God has a special place in Heaven for Sputnik and he told me yesterday that wanted all of us to continue the political work and to carry forward with his final Rally for the Birthday Bash in July. As soon as we know the Memorial Service information we will send out another broadcast.

Our sincerest regrets to the entire Biker Community

Hello Texas ABATE Members;

Robin Warfield, Texas ABATE Treasurer here... you may already know that I have plans to travel between Wisconsin, Oklahoma and Texas beginning this fall (ok, so I already have been doing a little). I plan to always continue to be active in motorcyclist rights, no matter where I may be. I will always be one who writes and calls my legislators to give them my opinion on issues that impact me and so many of my family and friends. I'm sure I'll see you at a meeting, seminar, rally or the Capitol sometime soon.

With ALL that said .... Texas ABATE needs a Treasurer: a current member to raise their hand, jump up and say, "Hey, I can process memberships, I can take care of the checkbook and help the chapters stay current with their financial reporting. I want to do what I can to take Texas ABATE and motorcycle rights to new levels of unity and freedom." ~~ Learning the ins and outs of the position is very straight forward; there are deadlines and requirements that must be met. None of the things that are required are difficult to do, only unknown. I will be here to help the volunteer, who maintains the budget learn this all, if help is needed.

I know we have members who want to help and have the skill set to run the treasurer's office, you only need to say YES, I will !! ~~~ so, to volunteer for this position ... you can either go to a chapter meeting in your area and ask for their nomination OR shoot me an email to robin.warfield@texasabate.com or call me at
903-744-0857 and I can take your information to the Board Meeting for nomination from the Board.

Nominations for Texas ABATE Treasurer, Texas ABATE Assistant Coordinator and Texas ABATE News Editor for the 2010 - 2012 term open at the July Board Meeting. Independent members who wish to run for any of these positions can do so by sending your name, membership number and position you would like to fill to Texas ABATE Nominations, PO Box 1113, Sherman, Texas 75091 or by email to nominations@texasabate.com.

Robin
